Too often, new technologies pass by the nonprofit world, and small-to-medium sized nonprofits suffer for it. Rachel believes in the importance of making new media technologies approachable and accessible to these nonprofits.
Since joining the foundation in 2005, Rachel has worked with its grantees and partner organizations to create effective online video and website communications. With the help of Rachel's digital storytelling and technical implementation, the Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation has created and hosted several short documentaries to help nonprofits raise awareness and grow their audiences. Recently Rachel has focused on 'making the message mobile' through the incorporation of portable video devices such as iPods and has assisted an online capital campaign using internet advertising for nonprofit fundraising.
Her past experience in nonprofit management and technology includes serving as Senior Research Associate at the Center for Arts Management and Technology (CAMT). Rachel holds a Masters degree in Arts Management from Carnegie Mellon University and a Bachelors degree in Speech Communications from Susquehanna University.
In 2003, Dana was engaged as the first staff for the Frieda C. Fox Family Foundation and implemented the Board's first grantmaking and technical assistance programs serving non-profit organizations in Los Angeles and Santa Clara counties of California. Dana is a proponent of foundation website communications, and created the foundation's first website using "off the shelf" software five years ago. She envisions a philanthropic sector in which the web is embraced by both foundations and non-profit organizations, and is the cornerstone of involving the next generation in philanthropy in this digital world.
Dana is a former high school teacher, curriculum author, attorney,non-profit consultant, and director of development for a large educational non-profit and charter school. Dana is an attorney, and member of the State Bar of California. She holds a B.A. from Wellesley College, and J.D. from Santa Clara University School of Law.
Both in his professional life and in his role in the foundation's creation and evolution, Kevin has long focused on the importance of Computer-Mediated Communications. As a member of the FCFox Foundation's board of directors, Kevin has sought to identify scalable and replicable ways to use technology to to maximize the foundation's positive impact on its grantees.
